From humble beginnings

We grew from our local volunteers

The story of Drumcondra Home Help and Care Services

In the greater Dublin area, home care services are predominately provided  by Not for Profit Organisations along with some private providers also in operation.

Following a request from the then Eastern Health Board to Drumcondra Old Folks Association, a company was set up with a voluntary membership to manage this service. The service was set up as a community support service and was registered with the Charities Regulator as Drumcondra Home Help & Care Services CLG.

In early 2020 DHHCS was approached by the HSE to take over St Laurence O’Toole Social Services, a home support service  based in East Wall.   This subsequently  doubled the staff employed and the services provided by DHHCS.

Following a successful take over of St Laurence O’Tooles the HSE approached DHHCS to take over another organisation, Donnycarney Beaumont Home Help & Care Services.

Today, all three Organisations fall under Drumcondra Home Help & Care Services CLG.

We are proud to share that in 2024 we were awarded the HSE Home Support Authorisation Scheme.

This tender win is in recognition of our commitment and dedication to the safe, high quality and person-centred care delivery to individuals who wish to remain independent in their own homes.
